“For the Folksingers” is the opening track of my second album, “In an Empty House.” It’s dedicated to folksingers, though probably mostly to myself. I try to be honest in my songwriting, and in the process of writing a song, I come to understand myself better. Sometimes it feels like coming to discover a truth about myself. But then as soon as I come to believe that that’s who I am, it turns out, it’s no longer true. At best, it’s who I was when I wrote it.
I think that’s what this song is about.

「フォークシンガーズへ」は私の２番目のアルバムのIn an Empty House（空っぽな家に）の最初の曲です。フォークシンガーズに捧げる歌ですが、実際には、自分に捧げる歌かもしれません。歌詞を作る時、できるだけ正直に自分のことを伝えようとします。そうして、自分をもっと知るようになります。事実を発見するように感じます。しかし、その事実を信じたところ、すでに変わりました。その事実はその歌詞を作った時の私の事実でしたが、それから、私はもう少しだけでも変わりました。
この曲はそういうことについてだと思います。
